The OM604 engine has the Lucas injection pump, which is very susceptible, and 95 HP are actually too weak for the W202. Above all, a C220 Diesel automatic is very slow (but the manual transmission with five gears is bad to switch and also not recommended), for this the engine is smooth.

Lucas’s electronic distributor injection pump should have already been exchanged for a Bosch pump (demand for proof!), which many 220s had to deal with. Bastler always thinks that one can renew individual seals of the pump, but that’s bullshit and half a thing – that goes away one day again and only pushes up the problem.

If it comes from the sheet state and the price fits or it is a really good, stunned “Rentnerauto” for little coal, but I don’t see a problem – although the C220 diesel in the W202 is the engine, which is by far the least convinced with regard to temperament, counter value and reliability (main bad is the Lucas pump) and I wouldn’t buy it.

The C180 with 122 hp and automatic. It is easy to find (was also the most sold) and neither too slow nor too drunk; he is also very reliable. I have been driving a 1997 C180 Classic automatic for many years, a lot has not been broken. My average consumption is about eight liters of Super E5 on 100 kilometers and this is a very good value for a car of this size and performance at this age.

The C180 also digests short-haul operation without problems (which proves the high proportion of almost only internally moved but reliable C180 W202 pensioner cars to this day!) and is a very solid engine – the good M111 was a big throw anyway. In addition, a diesel does not make any sense for short distances, even no old vacuum cleaner in the OM604.

There is no motor in the W202, the C220 diesel to the unit. But he has the Lucas pump, which is impossible and also makes a lot of trouble in the W210 (E220 Diesel).

in itself. Is a typical diesel that is more than 25 years old. With proper use, the meander has seen more than 300,000 km.

For a transition car super. Surely he runs forever, but do you want to get him and gradually renew everything?

If you do not drive a V8 (exaggerated) as a first car, a second car is not worth it.

both cars want to be insured, danced, matured for summer and winter and and and. Before you buy something, you expect.

you swallowed a V8 of 20l, everything costs a lot: thick brakes, fat UHP tires etc. then okay.

but you pay two cars. always consider whether it is worth it.

What’s the first car?

but you know the diesel much more than the gasoline

Then you’ll be happy every km the more

Good. Let’s figure 5 years of driving licence and SF5. If the 180s will cost you TK 800€, the 202 will cost the same thanks to the second car SF class. If you’re going to drive 10,000 with the 180, you’ll have 10l of 1,60, 1600 Euro Sprit. Maintenance We say again 300€ a year. The 202 will also cost you €1525 or so if you drive with the 15 mill, another 7*1,45*150. Tax double to 3 times.

maintenance and wear again 300€.
in the end, these are almost twice the cost.
you have to pay for it… I left it… to show you that it’s not worth the maintenance.
you can drive an AMG 203 at 25000 km

How much are you driving a year?

this is the next thing… no matter how emotional any decision is, think rational.

I drove a 204 and wanted to buy a compressor kit sometime. what would have done that? Brutale purchase costs and no one pays that at the end of the sale… if the car had gone away at all. Let him be original, make little things. Feathers, more fat rims or something. You can sell it separately for sale

the state is still good when you take care of your car

Okay.

the Km you make with the 202 cost money.

whether you make 20 tsd with the 202 and 10 tsd with the 203, or 30,000 with the 203 makes a difference. everything costs money

let’s say the 180s needs 10 and the 220s 7l. save you 3l times 1.20 because 20% more fuel costs per liter. What is that? 4.5€ per 100 km.

How many hundreds of thousands of miles does double insurance costs, double tax and double variable maintenance costs cover?

If you drive a C55, you can think about it.

I’ll give you a tip… that’s not worth it.

What do you mean “suitable”? You can make any car your second car and if you like it even a Bobbycar. Who itches…. But as a very special Benz fan, I guess you don’t get to the house…. Well, be it if you want to get yourself an old Benz then certainly not a W202. The Karre was and is nix…. Get beautiful W124 or better than S124 as a six-cylinder then you have at least quality and fun in the jaws.

You’re really a droll guy you have to leave. When you get W/S124 from the last series of 1997, the younger than the W202 of 1996. At least in my world. The W/S210 is also not the knocker. At least not the first series. As a C-Class, the older model of the W/S204 is really good. It’s the best C-class to get the new things out of mind. And even with them, I would prefer the W/S204. And, by the way, short distances do not like a vehicle in the long term.

I don’t think that a Mercedes diesel with that age is economic to whom you don’t screw yourself. There are potentially too many problems.

The problem is aging, injectors, hoses, pipes, electronics, plastic parts, rust. In addition, crash safety is completely backward

It’s like this: the risk of expensive problems would have to be something positive, for example, an increase in value as an old-timer, a favorable possibility of repairing over mate with his own workshop, something.
