Vw up fuel cap broken?
Hello, the tank cap is broken, see picture, I was told that you can glue it but it doesn't stick, do you know what it's made of because I wanted to buy a special glue especially for the plastic, then try again, the car is a VW UP 2017
Moin,
yes, a well-known vulnerability at up, Mii and Citigo. To glue the lid, a 2-component epoxy adhesive would be best.
For this, one should completely expand the lid (is not a witchcraft, see video) so that you can clean and fix everything reasonably.
Nevertheless, I also believe here that a new lid would probably be best, or just a used one in car color.
Here the video (but please put something between paint and screwdriver):

Try to remove the adhesive residues there thoroughly, then you can try it again with epoxide if you get this fixed reasonably.
The cover is intended to buy a few Euros at VW or at the car user
Let the glue be and buy you replacement, used or new.
The gasoline vapours release the glue, no matter what. That doesn’t last long
is there something broken down on metal, how do you want to glue it, get a new one at VW
