VW Fox 2005 model year difficult to start?

Good Morning,

I drive a 2005 VW Fox with the nice 1.2-liter engine. About three weeks ago, I first encountered this problem: the car had trouble starting and would stall after a few revs. When I started it again and pressed the accelerator, it recovered and drove normally.
The following day the EPC lamp lit up when there were starting problems and the MKL came on briefly, but went out again after a few meters.

I've been on vacation for two weeks and wanted to start the car. The engine was running roughly/almost stalled, the EPC/MKL light came on and there was a generally loud chugging noise (the engine block itself was also moving quite a bit), so in my opinion it wouldn't have been a good idea to continue driving.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Could it be worn-out spark plugs? I have no idea when they were last serviced, as I've only owned the car since last year.

The battery was new in November last year.

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, there will be more because if EPC is lit with the MKL, there is something larger, for example, at Seat's 1.2TSI with the 105PS, it is a linkage from the controller for the turbo.

you have to go to the workshop and read it out.

there can really be a lot or something bigger.

this will probably not be worthwhile for a Fox, as the value of the vehicle is very low.
