VW Beetle caravan?
Maybe some of you know the clip:

I have the crazy idea of replicating this, only the tow bar isn't on the roof, but like any other trailer. That's what my first question was about:
So my question is whether there will be any problems (Tüv, general, etc.) Because in itself the idea is brilliant
-you can maneuver better
-you have an alcove like in a motorhome
-the alcove theoretically provides a bit of lift like a wing
-and you're the "king of the campsite" because no one else has something so great 🙂

You can forget about that, even if it's a good idea. This isn't America. There's the roof load, and then there's the weight, because the towing capacity is probably too great for a Beetle.
The most you could do is go to the TÜV and ask whether you have a chance there, but that's questionable.
So the tow bar doesn't go on the roof, but where any normal trailer would go. The alcove shouldn't extend any further over the car than the car's width (1.54 m in the Beetle). And I agree with you about the weight; the Beetle is only rated to tow 650 kg. But there are a few caravans the Beetle can tow (Eriba Puck, Pan, Familia, Qek Junior, Aero…), so that should work somehow ;-).

It's worth a try, as I said, ask the TÜV beforehand because a full inspection has to be done.
Glad I could help and thanks for the star
Thanks again anyway
