Protect against myxomatosis?
Hey
Can I protect my rabbits from myxomatosis without vaccinating them? It costs €50 per rabbit, so that would be too expensive for me. I have neighbors who never vaccinate their rabbits and never even take them to the vet. The rabbits are now 6 years old. A friend of mine has 4 rabbits and never vaccinates them either. Her rabbits are 3 years old. So how can I protect them?
And please no HATE COMMENTS or COUNTER COMMENTS!
THANKS!
Hello 🙋🏽
I can understand. Of course not because of the money but because one of my rabbits died shortly after myxomatose vaccination. Of course, we’ve made some chefs. I’ve been very scared.
However, there are hardly any possibilities. Only with newly bought rabbits to make a check with the veterinarian beforehand. This, however, does not protect special .
If a rabbit is sick, you should go to the vet.
Dear Greetings I hope I could help you
Thank you for your answer. Whenever something is weird with them, I’m going to the vet.
Not without vaccination. And worse than Myco is eh RHD1 or RHD2 and against MUST be vaccinated if you don’t want your animals to die painfully. Sorry but this is grossly negligent and if you don’t have the money to let your animals inoculate 1x in the year should not stop at all. Because a disease or surgery can cost several 100 EUR quickly.
I’ve been vaccinating every year, and I’ve also let her invade where I only had 40 EUR in MONAT after all the deductions! Just because I didn’t want to take the risk that my animals die painfully and put all the others on
In particular: Vaccination RHD and Myxo is a combination vaccination, so the costs do not fall 2x at all
Right. And with the new active ingredient just 1x a year and no more 2x….
There are some herbs that are very good, but they do not replace an vaccination. Please take the 50€ in hand and make a combination vaccination against myxomatose, RHD 1 and RHD 2. In addition, you can naturally give the herbs, e.g. bear claw, but as said, this does not provide reliable protection.
A treatment due to the disease is much more expensive than the 50€ if you notice it at all in time, which is often not the case. Besides, you can’t count rabbit lives with money, but the money should be worth it. In principle, at least once a year, in the case of older rabbits at least twice a year, one should go to the kanine expert veterinarian for routine examination. Rabbits show clearly visible symptoms of disease very late and until then the disease is often very advanced. Too much more than once to a veterinarian!
Just because your neighbors never had problems, that’s not meaningful. Every year, masses of rabbits die of the diseases mentioned, because they are often recognized far too late and a treatment then no longer brings. There you can only give painkillers and hope that the animal does not have to suffer extremely.
Okay.
How many years does the vaccination apply?
Doesn’t know exactly what you mean, but you should have your rabbits (if I understood it correctly) about from the 5th. Let your life be intimidated once and then every year.
Anyone who is not willing or able to apply the lavish 50€ for vaccination can forget the treatment of a sick animal and should give his animals to someone who is able and willing to do so.
Call different veterinarians. I’ve never paid over 50€ per rabbit for inoculation.
And that’s your model now, isn’t it? Only protects vaccination.
I have for the last combination vaccination (although incl. Myco, RHD1/2) paid per animal over EUR 50…. were worth the EUR 200 in total but that was worth me. It also depends on whether the veterinarian takes the simple, double or triple sentence (which is left to himself), whether veterinary clinic or not, etc.
My veterinarian’s doing so in the spring. So if enough people register for it, the price per active ingredient will be cheaper. :
Let her intrude. No, you can’t protect her.
If you can’t afford 50 €, don’t give the animals, because there are other veterinarian bills in your life.
It is also available in the three-digit range. Information only
I’ve still paid NIE for sleeping three-digit amount. That wasn’t even so much for my cat….
