Ich wollte wissen ob man sich irgendwo/irgendwie spezifisch auf eine Karriere als Programmierer in Österreich vorbereiten kann, ohne den traditionellen schulischen Weg zu gehen. Ich möchte mich halt nur gezielt auf das programmieren fokussieren!

Otherwise, the industry is in principle still cross-release-friendly. Somehow you have to come in first. Some start in adjacent activities, such as software testers or web designers, and develop from there.
Of course, you can also learn purely autodidactical, but you have to be able to teach the employer what you have learned. One approach would be to collaborate on significant open source projects. But you will also have to expect some years on this path.
So this consists of the expertise and then of the understanding of the surrounding area.
I think if you’ve been working on medium-sized projects independently and successfully completed this should be enough for entry.
It’s hard to know what you should be able to do.
Buy a good book, read it, try out the examples, try out your own projects, etc.
Nothing else you would have to do in an education or studying, you hardly learn programming, you have to do it on your own.
However, this doesn’t bring you much in professional life at least at the beginning, the companies want some insurance that you can at least do anything and the training is very suitable for this, as it guarantees that you have also collected practice experience – at least theoretically.
