Bird dead after window crash?

A bird just flew into our window and then lay motionless on the floor for 15-20 minutes. It looked dead and didn't move. I threw it in the black bin, but my mother thinks it could just be paralysis? Does anyone know anything about this?

Please let him out of the ton quickly, it can be a reversible shock star, as long as the animal does not completely “destroy”. The bird is also very safe. If you want to be completely “nett”, put it in a warm place, put some water on him and wait up to an hour. At the latest, if he doesn’t move in that time, you can be 100% sure he’s dead. However, it is quite probable that he broke the neck.

Perfectly right. I’d wait even longer. And you can actually see a jerk when the head is completely loose.

Birds can get a shock much easier. In shock, birds help darkness and warmth.

Usually this is a Glatter Genick break, about after 15-20 minutes, there would have to be a shock star if he did not move within that time. He died immediately.

Either the neck is broken or it’s just unconscious. Then it takes a while and he comes to himself and is still a little stunned. Then he needs protection until he can think clearly.

He probably broke the neck… ☹️

Unfortunately, he broke the neck when it hit the disc.

Yeah, he could. Why are you throwing a bird away? Let him lie there – this is the course of nature!

I do not think the author of the question likes to lie a dead bird in the garden / etc.
