Virtuelle Maschine Speicher reduzieren?
Hallo,
Ich habe so eben Sachen auf meiner VM gelöscht. (Oracle VM, Windows 11 Host und Windows 10 Guest mit dynamischen Speicher.)
Da mein Speicherplatz nicht wieder freigegeben wurde auf dem Host PC, habe ich ein Tutorial dafür befolgt in der Hoffnung, dass dies nun funktioniert.
(Ich besitze übrigens keine VDI Datei, sondern lediglich eine .hdd Datei, welche ich einfach dafür benutzt habe.)
Als ich nun folgenden Befehl eingab: VBoxManage.exe modifymedium disk C:\Users\Test\VirtualBoxVMs\Test –compact
Kam immer folgende Fehlermeldung: VBoxManage.exe: error: Permission problem accessing the file for the medium ‘C:\Users\test\VirtualBoxVMs\test’ (VERR_ACCESS_DENIED)
VBoxManage.exe: error: Details: code VBOX_E_FILE_ERROR (0x80bb0004), component MediumWrap, interface IMedium, callee IUnknown

Ich bin offensichtlich neu bei der Bedienung von VMs und wäre echt dankbar für jede Hilfe.

Try to start the command prompt as an administrator.
Enter Windows Search:
Command prompt
, right-click the search result and select:
Start as Administrator
out.
Then test the command again:
I need to try later. Until now, I forgot and started VBoxmanager as an administrator. Thank you.
Addendum: Unfortunately no difference.

OMG… Because the HDD and the folder are the same I have never noticed….

“C:\Users\Test\VirtualBoxVMs\HERE\Test.hdd”
the .hd is still standing Windows for Here or something.

Where is the *.hd? There must be at least one link.
I forgot to write: I’ve already tried with quotation marks and various file extensions. In both cases, there is the error that no file could be found.
Also the command:

in quotation marks.
Not quite. “Test” is just a centring.
However, the complete path is also copied out by “properties” and therefore correctly written. (If I had to change anything, it would be correct to do so” (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND)”)
Is your username with which you register Test?
