View WhatsApp status secretly?
For messages, you can simply put your phone into airplane mode, then look at the message and then take it out of airplane mode again – this way the other person won't know that you've read the message because the two check marks won't turn blue.
Is it the same with a status? I just saw that someone has a status. The profile picture always has a border like that. So I put my phone in airplane mode, looked at the status, and then exited WhatsApp and airplane mode. But the border around the profile picture was missing afterward, so does the person know I've seen their status?

I just tried, but 100% sure I’m not. Whatsapp does not show me that I have looked at the status of device B with device A, neither with nor without flight mode. It may be possible.
