Have you never done an online order?

The seller transfers your package to the parcel service. As soon as the parcel service has registered your package in its system (and if a package tracking is also provided), it will return the registration – and thus also the “Send tracking number” – to the sender. This will send a corresponding email/WhatsApp/SMS etc. to the recipient. When the sender works with several parcel services, it is only now possible to determine who is likely to deliver when.

If you have not received a notification from VS yet, you cannot track your order online. You need the tracking number. You enter this on the website of the respective parcel service (DHL/UPS/GLS/Hermes etc.), and only now you have an overview of the order status of your delivery.
