Hi and thank you for your question,

I’m not sure what you mean. Who graduates cannabis from your point of view? The state itself (if there is) is probably not, after all, there has recently been a regulated release of cannabis for adults. Individual national governments are, of course, more rigorous with the topic. As Bayer, I can say that.

As a youth addiction consultancy, we definitely do not prescribe cannabis, but do not want to completely harmless it. You’re right, cannabis is less harmful in many ways than alcohol. But it can also provide health, psychological and other problems.

So, at the end of the day, we are always concerned with responsible handling of substances. And in order to achieve this and make conscious decisions in terms of consumption, you need neutral information. And they are somewhere between the extremes “Cannabis is Devil” and “Cannabis is completely harmless.”

Hope you understand what I mean.

Best regards

Does it even have relevance for a search advice to how a drug behaves compared to another?

Or are there strategies for pampering by gradually replacing a hard drug by more harmless drugs?

Does the strategy offer to get rid of alcohol by using cannabis?

Hi suboptimizer,

a very legitimate question. In principle, I do not think much about comparing different drugs or replacing them with the others. I just briefly referred to the difference because it was so formulated in the question. It is about dealing with it individually. Why do I use a particular substance, what needs are behind it and what can I do instead to meet these needs.

There is already such a substitution, where in the normal case the aim is to get rid of the addiction with time. In opiate/opioids, this can make sense, where it has a lot to do with minimising risks in consumption, getting a little everyday structure etc.

Substituting alcohol with cannabis or vice versa does not seem to me to be particularly useful. But let me be convinced of the opposite.

Best regards
