Reduced libido due to the pill?

Hey!

My girlfriend is thinking about taking the pill as a contraceptive.

However, I've recently read online that taking the pill can significantly reduce libido, meaning that women have significantly less desire for sex. I'd like to know your experiences with this, how much truth there is to this, or whether it's just a horror story.

If it's true, it basically makes the whole thing unnecessary, right?

I mean, she would only take the pill for sex, but then we wouldn't have sex if she took it because, in the worst case scenario, she wouldn't feel like it anymore.

And condoms are too unsafe for her in the long run.
