Seller doesn’t hand over car?

Hello, I have a question

I bought a car from a dealer.

I was told in advance that it could take 6-8 weeks until it could be handed over.

the 8 weeks are over.

It has been approved for 5 weeks now.

What is still missing is a conversion to the vehicle. Due to missing parts, this could not be carried out completely. At least one part is still missing.

But I don't feel like waiting any longer and asked for the car to be handed over in standard condition and for an appointment to be made for the conversion once the parts are there.
They then said that the car had already been partially rebuilt and that it would be nonsense to put everything back again as there was still a part missing.

We had a handover appointment, but it was canceled, so I had to call the same day to ask for the time…

I can understand that if it's a five-day delay, it makes no sense to take it back. But they couldn't tell me when the part would arrive and when the handover could take place. And I don't want to wait another week.

This is not a new car

Can I set a deadline for the dealer?

I'd rather not hire a lawyer, although I'm already considering it.

After the purchase you had special requests, the dealer is striving to order and also install them. a part is missing, bad luck.

and asked to hand over the car in serial condition

the dealer can do, the time is charged to you, the parts are already paid. can keep as your property. the missing part will be handed over to you on delivery.

Do you have written when the card should be available?

Then inform you that you will take a rental car and charge the costs.

I’ve been getting said

Have you ever thought about what contracts are good for and why these are made?

To fix such things in writing and to have a legal handle later.

You wanted this change and the parts are missing. So what should the dealer do if the production/delivery slumps?

Make it written you want the car now.

Then do this in writing, as I said.
