Cabling with DSP for an active PA?
Hello, I have one or two questions.
I would like to expand my system, so far only a 15" sub + 2 tops.
My idea is 3 more 15s and a double 18, then 2 small tops as infill.
This raises my question as to whether a DSP would be useful, since I'd like to use the 15" as a kick bass and the double 18" only for the lower end. However, I can only set a hi-cut on the bass.
The whole thing is active, with a passive system I would go from the DSP to the power amplifiers and then simply connect all the speakers with l+r specon.
Does this also work with active speakers?
So I just use two XLR cables on the left and right to go into the speakers and just loop the signal through?
Or would I have to connect each speaker individually to an output in the DSP?

Pro frequenzband und Seite (bei Stereo) brauchst du einen Kanal am DSP. Die einzelnen Lautsprecher die die gleichen Frequenzen abspielen sollen kannst du dann wieder durchschleifen.
Wie das ganze angeschlossen wird kommt auf die Aufstellung an. Wenn die Subs und Kicks z.b. Nur Mono spielen müssen reicht da jeweils ein Ausgang vom Dsp der das summiert eingangssignal ausgibt.
DSP schadet nie (ausser man verstellt alles bis zum geht nicht mehr) und ist bei einer Anlage dieser größe/wegeanzahl meiner Meinung nach sinnvoll. Kostet ja im Vergleich zum Rest auch nicht mehr so viel.

Ja, in die Richtung dachte ich auch, wäre sonnst ja zu einfach.
Heißt der doppel 18er einzeln anschließen, die 4 15er und die 4 tops. Ist halt bissle Kabelsalat, aber dann kann mans zumindest vernünftig einstellen.
