Is contraceptive protection effective if you are 5.5 hours late taking the first pill of the new pack?

Hello! I took the first pill of the new blister pack 5.5 hours later than usual because, to be honest, I didn't remember to take it due to stress.

Naturally, I then read the package insert, and it assures me that taking the pill late within 12 hours still guarantees full protection. I had unprotected sex on the second day of the new blister pack (i.e., after taking the first pill a few hours late and after taking the second pill at the usual time). I'm still worried that the contraceptive protection might not have been effective. It's now been four days since I had sex, and the morning-after pill would be too late. Is my fear justified?

Hello liog18

If you’re in your pill’s package, you can take a forgotten pill up to 12 hours, then you’re still protected.

To avoid forgetting the pill, you can save the memory into your phone. You can also place the pack next to the coffee machine, next to the coffee cups or next to the toothbrush.

Our many years of experience has shown that it is safer to take the pill in the morning. You usually stand up at the same time and when you get up on the weekend, the difference in time doesn’t matter if you’re in the package leaf of the pill that you can take a forgotten pill up to 12 hours without losing protection. Besides, you have time to take a forgotten pill all day. In the evening, you’re more on the go, and you’ll see the time.

Your fear is unfounded.

You took the pill within 12 hours and there is the protection there

Welcome to our GF community! 🙂

>>I have taken the first pill of the new blister by 5 1/2 hours later than usual <

No problem, that does NOT change at your safe and complete prevention protection. After our break we have a 12-hour intake window for the first pill of the follower blister.

>>I had on 2. the date of the new blister (i.e. after the first intake delayed by a few hours and after the second pill at the usual time) unprotected GV. <

Oh, you didn’t really have a smile. The traffic was continuously reliably protected by your pill. :

>>Now it has been 4 days since the GV and the pill thereafter would be too late.

Now it would be too late, and sooner it would be perfect unnecessary *hehehe*.

>>Is my fear justified? < <

I’m glad I could calm you down.

You would have really had no reason to worry; you were, are and remain comprehensively pill-protected according to your information. – Greetings, Imke =)

I have, of course, read the package leaflet and it is insured, that late intake in the time window of 12 h still ensures complete protection.

Something else cannot “confirm” you here either.
