Use new or existing Apple ID for new iPhone?
I got a new iPhone and don't know whether to create a new Apple ID or use my old one. Will my data be transferred if I use the same Apple ID again? I don't want to transfer photos or videos. The only things I'd like to transfer are my contacts and WhatsApp chat, if that's possible?
What is connected to the Apple ID, i.e. what data would be available on my new iPhone?
Another problem if you use your Apple ID for the App Store and buy apps about it, you need to buy it again with a new account
As long as you use Apple devices, you only need an Apple ID. All your purchases and subscriptions are connected.
If desired, you can change your Apple ID email and password at any time.
I can’t say what it looks like with iCloud and photos. I hardly use iCloud, move photos and videos to the PC and then secure them externally.
All right, thanks. I would like to use the same Apple ID, however, not that my new phone is full of photos and videos directly.
Things like my contacts and the keychain I would like to transfer, but have not yet understood exactly whether everything is one on the new iPhone when I use the same Apple ID
If the photos and videos are only stored locally on the old iPhone, they will not be transferred. If they are in the iCloud, they will not be automatically transferred to the new iPhone – they will only be accessible on the new phone. A new ID therefore hardly makes sense.
Where can I see what is stored in the cloud?
So if I now use the same Apple ID, then I can decide what to transfer and on the new phone aren’t photos and videos if I don’t want it?
Look at icloud.com. As I said, the images are not transmitted.
Hi, it only makes sense to take the same, everything else makes hardly any sense.

Can you tell me why? I don’t understand exactly what the Apple ID is all about.
Is the Apple ID only for FaceTime, iMessage there or does it have something to do with the transmission of images and videos?
You’ll get your old iPhone mirrored on your new one, i.e. the same apps, the same pictures etc.
You can do this with the Quick Start option. When you set up your new iPhone, just put it next to your old one and tap Quick Start. Then you can select everything to be transferred.
Oh, thank you. So if I don’t want my pictures and videos to be on the new phone, should I take a new ID? Because my handy memory is full.
I would prefer to decide what exactly to be transferred.
Use existing Apple ID so you can also easily & easily drag your data from one to the other iPhone!
I would use the existing Apple ID.
You can decide what you want to transfer and what you don’t want.
If I use the same Apple ID then we will also transfer the images and videos or the Apple ID is only for FaceTime and iMessage.
How can I decide what to transfer? How’s that going?
