USB sticks always fail after a short time! What to do?
Does anyone know of a good, long-lasting USB stick brand? I have to keep buying new USB sticks because they keep breaking.
Common problems after a short time are:
- The stick becomes extremely slow
- It is no longer recognized at all or only sometimes after frequent plugging and unplugging
- Data is lost or not saved completely (program shows over 200 defective blocks)
Until now, I've always bought brands like Intenso or Hama at Müller. I mainly use the drives for various installation images, such as Windows or MacOS, so I format the drives every now and then.
Could the breakage be due to the formatting, or am I just unlucky and always get the Monday model? Do you have any tips or know of better brands?
Thank you for answers
What could possibly be the cause the others called yes. As a further recommendation, I would like to suggest only one brand: SanDisk.
And do you use things on the same port or via a USB hub?
The brands are actually very careful not to evaluate the USB stick until you pull it off to make sure you don’t harm the program.
Thanks for the answer, could really be because I almost always do. Didn’t know it damaged the stick. Thought it was always made that no unstored data was lost.
That’s true, but it can be that it was just written into the file directory, that is then inconsistent and the stick is no longer readable.
You do this primarily for both, so that everything is stored, but also secondary, so that the stick does not take any damage.
Must throw him out and then pull him out of the pc
Do you always take them out “safe”? Or just pull them off in between when it fits.
