USB disconnects briefly when I turn on the light switch?

Hello,

I have a 3D printer here that is connected to the PC via USB.

There is a light switch near the printer

Every time I press this button, the USB connection to the printer is disconnected briefly, but everything stays on and the light also goes on/off normally

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

There is EMC protection on the printer or on the lamp inadequate. Electrical appliances from the Asian (favorable) market without CE markings can interfere with each other. These disturbances spread over the power lines and sockets (networks) of the connected devices.

A USB cable that is too long or not properly shielded can also cause this situation.

My suggestions are:

  • Run the printer or lamp over other outlets, i.e. increase the distance of the devices and feed lines
  • Use another better USB cable, thin cables are garbage, thicker cables are often better shielded, possibly even have one Wall shaft filter for better EMC.

Good luck!

Had a similar behavior in my apartment. There were slim LED lamps that, although well lit, radiate EM stretch. Even the TV didn’t go when the light burned. After a change of lamps, the haunt was over.
