USB connection from mobile phone to PC?

Hello,

I recently wondered if it's possible to "forward" the USB port on my phone to my PC, so to speak, so that when I connect a USB stick to my phone, it will be recognized as a drive on the PC. Is this possible? And if so, how?

As I understood your question: Yes, that is possible and usual.
When the phone is connected to the laptop/PC via USB*, it appears in the Explorer as shown in the image example.
Your photos z. B. are located in DCIM > Camera

*) Possibly the connection on the mobile phone display must be released

Only if it supports the USB-To-Go function.

Either I understand your question incorrectly, or you haven’t come to the simplest We use the charging cable separately from the power plug or hold another USB cable then I have the cell phone in the file manager and can download e.g. pictures.

Mirroring the port just to read a USB stick makes no sense. The data can be released directly as a network drive. I use the “File Manager+” because you can then use a browser to use all data on the mobile phone (internal and external storage).

Remote control of USB ports is made in industry, where you can bridge long distances by network (even VPN through the Internet) and use glass fibers for insulation against overvoltages. A system would be “USB anywhere”.

Mobile apps are not known to me to do this. But there are devices with USB Prot that can be connected to the PC via WLAN via the mobile phone – or also directly.

That’s a problem I’ve never had myself and I’ve never been busy.

But my idea would be to host an FTP server on the phone and then mount the stick on the PC. But the same comfort as Plug&Play-USB has not.
