Laptops with USB Type-C ports are often a surprise package.
USB Type-C can do a lot, but most of it is optional.
Data transfer is always included. Charging via USB PD or screen output via DisplayPort signal is optional. If supported, the power or DisplayPort version is also variable.
If your laptop supports video output, it might only be DisplayPort 1.2. In that case, you should only be able to transmit 240Hz at Full HD.
Without a laptop name, we cannot give a clear statement about support.
If you see a DP or Thunderbolt (lightning) symbol next to the Type-C port, the laptop supports Type-C display output. It's not visible in the image.
If your laptop supports it, the cable shown will do the job.
If the USB C port has a Display Port output, it works.
However, since there is already an HDMI output, it probably won't support this.
