Is it worth upgrading to WiFi 6?
Hello, we recently got the Fritzbox 7590 AX. It's equipped with WiFi 6, but since our house is very old, the reception in the other rooms isn't that good. Therefore, we have a total of five Deco M4 mesh repeaters. Is it worth upgrading to newer Decos that also transmit WiFi 6? Currently, one Deco is connected to the router, and this sends the signal to the others. However, they don't support WiFi 6. We get around 200 Mbps out of a possible 300 Mbps according to our contract. Is there an alternative to the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands? Because when we have both connected, the internet is significantly worse. However, we need 2.4 GHz for various smart home devices.

So either your repeaters form your own MESH – regardless of the Fritzbox – odes is not a MESH network.
If you want to have a MESH network including the Fritzbox, you also need Fritz-Repeater.
Otherwise, the usual physics of the spark applies, which can also not trigger WLAN 6 .
If you are using WLAN best possible If you want to have a reception, then there is nothing else but to put a cable in all the rooms concerned and to use WLAN only the last few meters to the tablet, smartphone, laptop, etc.
Yes, the deco units are the WLAN, but one must be connected to the Fritzbox; otherwise this is not possible because they cannot function as routers. But I wonder if an upgrade of mesh units to WiFi 6 would make sense.
If Wifi 6 could get out more than 200mbit
If you run the “Decos” via WLAN at the Fritzbox, you don’t have MESH.
…and the second sentence I answered you.
We have a deco by LAN on the router; the others are positioned in the rooms, transfer Wi-Fi from the main deco and offer the possibility of a LAN connection. Would Fritzbox bring reapters more?
