Hello.

No one can say that. Apple is holding back with such information. If you look at the previous models that were still equipped with Intel chipset, you could have a period of 8 years plan, i.e. 8 years of function and then 2 years of security updates. But it can also be that Apple already pulls the plug earlier. My then MacBook from 2010 has with up to 2018 Function– and to 2020 Security updates obtained.

Not all features appear on the Intel macs such as Apple Intelligence. Such features are reserved exclusively for Macs with M-chips. Due to the fact that the M1 can still hold very well and will benefit from further features in the future, I tend – as already mentioned above – to roughly 8 years of function updates.

Conclusion: You can use your Mac for a few years. You don’t need to worry about it.

Only Apple knows exactly. Experience shows that it can be 7-9 years from first sale.

If I’m not mistaken, MacBooks will get full update support from Apple up to 7 years after their first release.
