Does YouTube support 8k live streams?
I'm actually wondering if YouTube supports live streams in 8k (7680x4320p 50/60). Even though it'll be pointless for 99% of users because either the download or the device will be too slow.
What bitrate would such a stream actually have (4320p60 with 10-bit color depth)? When I upload something, the maximum speed is 300 Mbps, despite a 10-gigabit symmetrical connection.
Of course, I know it will be better in practice to stream in UHD. While I can emulate an 8K monitor, my encoder can relatively reliably handle a maximum of UHD.
Google itself only specifies bitrate and resolution settings for up to 2160p, which does not mean that an 8K stream could not be reproduced.
The actual upload size depends on your encoder and bit rate setting.
Thanks for the star!
I suspect you could support 8k streams, but you must also note that an 8k stream for YouTube eats extreme band width and, as you mentioned, there are not many people who have access to 8k at all.
YouTube supports I think everything. It’s practically stupid, but it’s possible. also have to choose the 8k function for videos. But live streams are probably too strong.
Conclusion because very sponge:
Yes it goes theoretically, but practical it is too resource intensive and meaningless.
Hope I could help you.
