Ibuprofen works against:

  • Pain
  • Fever
  • Anti-inflammatory

Paracetamol acts against:

  • Pain
  • Fever

In principle, it doesn’t matter and you can even take the medication alternately (e.g. in children Ibuprofen per os and Mexalen rectal).

So what is better tolerated – the advantage lasts ibuprofen because this also acts against inflammation. Both have a peripheral effect on the cyclooxygenases (COX) but Paracetamol also acts centrally.

Both are metabolized via the liver and excreted via the kidney, however, paracetamol loads the kidney more than ibuprofen.

Ibu often works better, but is with ASS and the stomach mucosa irritates. Many can only take it in conjunction with acid inhibitors.

Paracetamol can damage the kidneys when used frequently. Therefore, if one does not take too often and there is therefore at most to buy in the 20 pack.

My son had the stomach mucosa on the weekend. Pretty pain, couldn’t lie down, slept in sitting. It became better with acid hammers.

Ibuprofen is not an ASS (acetylsalicylic acid) it acts on the same enzyme but is reversible in Ibuprofen and irreversible in ASS.

Paracetamol does not harm the kidneys but the liver because it is mainly metabolized via the liver.

Para is in total more harmful, as it is enriched. Only ibu 800 and fromex in combination with migraine. Fromex relaxed .

Paracetamol does not accumulate, but is metabolized via the enterohepatic circulation via the liver – in the case of an overdose a liver damage is produced which does not occur at normal doses.

Ibuprofen is less harmful to the stomach. From my doctor I just got the instruction to use “here” Ibu. Paracetamol gets ripe when it comes to greater pain like dental treatments etc. To fun is not a pain medication because both can lead to problems after prolonged continuous intake.

Paracetamol is not shown in toothache treatments, since it has no antiinflammatory effect.

Both are painkillers that also lower fever. Ibuprofen also has anti-inflammatory effects in higher dosage, which does not do paracetamol.

Against pain and/or fever, you can take both substances, which you have just there and what works better with you.

Ibuprofen irritates the stomach mucosa, especially in higher doses, so you should not take it on sober stomach, but eat a little bite beforehand (soaking dry bread) and drink a large glass of water.

Paracetamol, on the other hand, is a problem for the liver. You should not overdo it at all, and also alcohol is No-No if you take Paracetamol.

In normal dosage, both dances are very well tolerated and do their job. They’ve been there for decades, and they’ve been well researched.

If you’ve ever wondered what substance is contained in fever cups for babies: this is Paracetamol. But beware: there are always calls to the poison emergency call centers, because parents mistakenly gave their baby twice as high dosed fever from the older sibling child (for toddlers instead of for babies), and this can lead to poisoning if you do it more often. So always be careful with the dosage.

The active compound is different and the action is largely the same.

Ibu, if this is really painful and against fever. Helps reliably. Paracetamol only helps me against fever.

Completely other drugs, other active ingredient, other effective.

But both painkillers, both inhibit cyclooxygenase. Ibuprofen acts a bit stronger, there is usually a small dose.
