and have seen that I can also use my old power supply for the new one. (500 watts)

Theoretically yes, if the connections are suitable.
Practical -> no, depending on the age and use of the power supply, because also power supplies are worn and have no longer the power they had in the new state. And then it comes to the fact that not every power supply on which 500W stands actually delivers this 500W (in the new state), then it doesn’t even need…

Have already seen power supplies of the 500W class (according to the label) that were able to deliver with effort 430W and after a few years in use were no more 400W left.

and it has a white logo at the 80+ award

The color is irrelevant. If the manufacturer likes to have green on his label, then he prints it in green. More important is what 80-Plus certification it should be. The higher, the more efficient.

80-Plus, 80-Plus Bronze, 80-Plus Silver, 80-Plus Gold, 80-Plus Platinum, 80-Plus Titanium.
Between the lowest and the highest levels there are about 11% difference in efficiency.

Whether you are better using a new power supply, I would personally depend on the age and duration of use of the existing power supply.

Means an efficiency of at least 80% at 100% load.

He’s going up with the additional awards silver, gold, etc.

As long as the power supply is enough, you don’t need a new one.
