Sand is inorganic and consists of very finely crushed mineral ground. There are as many varieties as there are rock types.

Humus is produced from organic plant wastes which are composted and fermented together and thus produce new soil food.

Difference:

organic -inorganic:

organic : can grow; inorganic: can not grow.

Sand is a soil type (grain size).

Humus are the organic ingredients in the soil.

All that goes down in and on the ground is decomposed and to humus.
