Calcium carbonate Limes. For example, you know as limestone, marble, shell shells… Super for building, annoying in drinking water, has nothing to do with explosives.
Potassium nitrate is also Kalisalpeter known. Salpeter is a bilingual preamble for Nitrate – the nitrate component is decisive; it acts as an oxidizer in the black powder.
However, other nitrates or Use nitric varieties. For example, calcium nitrate, originally known as limestone or wall-alpeter. Was previously also made, however, calcium nitrate is hygroscopic, i.e. attracts water from the humidity and thereby loses reactivity. Say, black powder with calcium nitrate is not very durable.
If someone says that calcium carbonate is important for weapons, he will use calciumnitrate confuse.
Thank you very much! I get so slow interest in chemistry.
If I remember correctly comes the ede of Staffel 2 still use as a weapon
There are two completely different substances and calcium carbonate (alkstone, marble) is also only the basis for producing BRANNTKALK for mortar and concrete.
Presumably, they have no idea and confused it with ‘calsalpeter’ that you actually take for black powder.
