ICE is not a train, but a train type. He connects the big cities.

It mainly travels on special high-speed trains with speeds of 260 to 300 km/h.

The other trains (IC) are 140 to 200 km/h, depending on the route.

ICE is the highest train ride on the train. It can reach high speeds on the special ICE routes. There is almost only ICE in long distance traffic, the InterCity or Eurocity is pushed to the edge.
