Unexplained stomach pain? What could it be?

Hey everyone

A few quick things about me: I've been diagnosed with endometriosis. At my last gynecologist visit, the doctor suggested I might also have irritable bowel syndrome. It might also be important to mention that I have an anxiety disorder (psychology and bowel function are closely related).

Now, I've always been quite slim. I have a very high metabolism. But I'd still like to gain a little weight to build muscle.

But now I'm constantly having problems with my bowels. I have to go to the bathroom so much and often have loose stools and even diarrhea (I've never had blood). So far, the doctor hasn't done any research. They just briefly mentioned irritable bowel syndrome.

I have an appointment with my new family doctor next week; perhaps she can help me. I thought maybe someone else has had to go through something similar.

I'm often hungry, which is fine, and then I eat, of course. But it often takes its toll on my stomach and intestines. For a while, I was extremely careful to eat gut-friendly foods, and it was good for my intestines. But I've lost weight, and that's really not my goal.

I'm also wondering if this could be due to endo or if there could be something else behind it.
I've been struggling with this for a few years now.
Or could this really be β€œjust” a psychological issue?

One more thing to add: the symptoms aren't always equally severe. I take the pill because of the endometriosis, and if I have a spotting period, I have more trouble with my bowels before, during, and afterward.

thanks for reading ✨

Perhaps an incompatibility to certain foods? I’m really sorry, it’s bad if you’re so severely restricted. Good for you.
