Unemployment benefit retroactively from the date of application?

Hello everyone,

I applied for unemployment benefits in November 2023. The processing took until April 2024 and was neither approved nor rejected (I was missing my employment certificate).
At the same time, I started a new job in April 2024, which ended in November 2024. I reapplied. Now I've been told that I'll receive unemployment benefits retroactively from November 2023 to April. Is that true? I can't really believe it. We're talking about several thousand euros. Let's say I received €900 in unemployment benefits, which would be a total of €5,400?

If you had a claim to ALG1 during the period from November 23 to April, you will receive a refund.
I'm wondering what you've lived in time and why you haven't been wondering what happened to your application for a long time.

If you're claiming, you'll actually pay it. It's not your fault if they need it. However, everything should be there, including the mentioned employer certificate.

In the case of authorization, unemployment benefit should be repaid from November 2023 to April 2024.
