Unemployment benefit calculation?

Dear forum,

For health reasons, I had to quit my recently started job.
I started in the middle of the month, on the 15th, and therefore only received half pay. A full salary would have been €3,500 gross, and now I'm only receiving €2,002.16 gross for half the month.

How does the employment agency calculate unemployment benefits? Based on my contractually agreed gross salary, is it 3,500 euros or 2,002.16 euros?

If there is no remaining entitlement, the unemployment benefit is calculated based on the average gross income of the last twelve months.

Your average monthly gross income for the last 12 months of employment subject to social security contributions will be used for the assessment + special payments subject to social security contributions.

As a single person without children, you should receive at least EUR 1,400.00. A few euros more may be possible if you received additional payments.

As a rule of thumb, always apply 60% of your average net salary (or 67% if you have children).
