Which steel helmet is this?

I came across a steel helmet some time ago and have been desperately trying to find out the exact name and age of the helmet ever since.
Since I have no expertise in this area, I searched through countless online articles and PDFs to find such a helmet. Many of these helmets had similarities, but the "air vents" on the sides were confusing, as I haven't seen them on any other model.

The inner lining appears to be original and bears a stamp with the number "60" and the name of the former owner. Otherwise, no stamps or indentations are visible (possibly under the lining?)

The chin strap is also still complete with its fastener. Perhaps one of these details can provide clues to the helmet's origin.

Thank you in advance.

I am not 100% sure, but I would suspect M40 Quist or M53. From the early 1950s – 1960s and not older. OnSteelhelmsammlung.de” you can see a variety of helmets under epochs.

I was aware that it would be a civilian firefighter helmet. But I thought you wanted to find out the model name. Therefore, the matching with other helmets that have been produced. :

Looks like an M 35 or an M 40.

The 60 could be the size.

No sign or the like, kind of reminds of a firefighter helmet.

My first thought was:

This is an old polo helmet (to protect riders during polo games).
