In driving school and during driving lessons, we turn in first gear in almost every situation. Why do you have to turn in first gear in driving school when you could also turn in second gear?
If you were to turn in second gear during your driving test and do everything correctly, would that still be a mistake?

The 1st gear is recommended for very sharp and possibly not visible bends. If you take the 2nd gear and bend too fast, the examiner will say something or note.
