I'm confused. I read the first few pages of the Trinity Blood manga. In the manga, there's a direct clash between Abel and Esther. In the series, the first episode begins on an airplane, without Esther.
Has the series been completely rewritten?

Das wird wohl daran liegen, das der Manga nicht die Vorlage zum Anime ist. Sondern die gleichnamige Light Novel (Roman) Reihe von Sunao Yoshida die von 1999 bis 2004 erschien.

Die Frage hast du dir schon selbst beantwortet. Ja. Deswegen schaue ich nur Animes und kein Manga weil die anders umgesetzt werden.
Wie geschrieben, habe ich nur die ersten Seiten gelesen und wollte dementsprechend wissen, ob der Manga und Anime auch weitestgehend komplett verschieden sind.
Mangas sind fast eigentlich immer komplett verschieden.

Nein meistens nicht, viele Animes halten sich größtenteils an die Storys der Mangas. Gibt halt nur hin und wieder Ausnahmen
