Trainee working on public holidays?

Hello everyone,

My girlfriend is currently training to be an office management assistant. She's working in several departments, including accounting and human resources.

Now the Christmas holidays are just around the corner, and her supervisors have decided to send her trainees to their company's logistics department for the time being. So, according to her instructions, she now has to work over the Christmas holidays, the 25th and 26th. But is this legal?
