Regenerate Trabant carburetor?

Hey guys,

I plan to repair an old Trabant 601 piece by piece.

I'd like to regenerate my carburetor soon. I found a regeneration kit on Trabantwelt.de . Can anyone recommend it, or are there other/better alternatives?

Additionally, the screws and individual parts are dirty. Is there a way to make them look "like new again?" I once heard that you can boil the parts in citric acid and water. Does anyone have experience with this?

I would be very grateful for your help.
Best regards …

You can renew everything with the set. The housing is aluminum injection molding. Lighting with glass beads brings more. Citric acid makes sense against rust.

You stick the channels. But with glass beads, they’re not aggressive. So did my motor and the gear from the motorcycle.
