Toshiba HDD vibrates when idle?

Hello,

My Toshiba 1TB external HDD vibrates when I connect it to the computer and it is idle and no read or write operations are actively running.

Whenever it reads or writes, it hums. It's a bit scary. It's relatively new and has about three hours of use so far.

It's not my only external HDD; I hardly hear anything about the Seagate 5TB.

Are external Toshiba HDDs just not insulated or is there a fault?

This is for HDD’s NORMAL. If they are idle, the metal plate still rotates. In write processes/reading operations even with up to 6000 rpm.

The humping is normal if it is not so strong at the Seagate, it is simply at the Toshiba model.

Can be on the model or your specific HDD.

It should be Toshiba as a reason. 😉
I haven’t had any Toshiba HDDs that could have taken it with WD or Seagate.

No problem, can also be that it is not right (slate)

The one HDD noise is half as wild as there are also metal plates with 6000 promille. As long as she doesn’t clack or razor, everything is fine
