Tooth detached from retainer?
Hey, I wore braces for 5 years and have been wearing a retainer behind my teeth for 7/8 years… and somehow my teeth are SO huge and strong that they shifted DESPITE THE RETAINER and now one of my teeth has come loose from the retainer…
I went to my orthodontist and he said, "Um, not our problem anymore. We only treat children."
Find a new orthodontist and pay what feels like another 10,000 euros and wear braces for five years? 😠Can't I just get my crooked teeth crowned or something?
Hello Ceyda187,
not the tooth detaches from the container, but in the other direction the container detaches from the tooth.
There are two possibilities:
1. An adhesive has dissolved. You didn’t notice. The tooth was no longer guided and moved. But that would not have happened if you had worn your tanker armor or rail regularly or at least had used it to the test. Then you would have noticed fast enough that there is movement in your mouth and could have caught it.
2.) Wisdom doughts have come and have postponed everything. In the case of orthodontic orthodontics, one is torn and usually lets the wisdom teeth remove if there is a risk that they might ruin the result of orthodontic treatment.
What now?
The fact that a orthodontic orthodontics only treats children is very unusual. Usually, most patients are teenagers and adult patients are actually happy to see, as they earn much more in self-payers.
If it bothers you, then only a further orthodontic treatment helps. But it does not last as long and is not as expensive as the first. But it costs a few thousand euros.
Small malpositions can also be laminated with veneers. But it’s usually not cheaper.
I recommend you go to a pine orthopedic and give you a first assessment. This appointment pays the cash register. There you will find out which misconceptions exist, how to treat those who would have to pay (you) and what price class you are talking about. And then you can decide.
Good luck!
