Title for a Harry Potter story?
I want to write, or rather draw, a Harry Potter fanfiction, and I've almost finished writing down all the characters and describing them. So, the plot of the story is about a girl named Lea Moon. She's the daughter of Sirius Black and was cursed in early childhood. She's in the Golden Trio, or rather, the Golden Quartet. That's the basic information.
I'd be very happy if you had some suggestions for the title. If you have any suggestions for supporting roles, I'd appreciate them too, but please not too many and focus more on the title.
Thanks
Hey,
So first: Lea “Moon” but daughter of Sirius “Black”? I have no objection at all if women retain their last name, on the contrary, but in this case it probably causes confusion.
Evtl. Title:
Something else would probably be too dared because you do not tell any real information about the action. There are not many options. But maybe there’s still a “biger” action that you could fit well into the title.

How can she name Moon if she’s the daughter of Sirius Black? Were the parents not married? Sirius was a wilderman. xD
Black Moon
The Curse of Lea Moon
The daughter of Grim
You could certainly give better ideas if you knew something more about the story.
So, for surnames: shortly after Sirius and Emilia(the mother) Lea and her twin brother Jack got Sirius arrested. Since almost no one knew Emilia was married and Sirius was the father of the children, the family decided to keep secret because Sirius was not so popular at the time and gave the children the name of their mother Moon so that they could not get any trouble in their later lives. Later the two married again and took last name Black as a family name.
Thanks for the suggestions that have brought me forward
But you can understand if someone is married or not. Let them not have been married, because children get the name of their mother if parents are not married. ; I know that from my own experience. Let her just have been a couple like that.
I’m glad to help you.
I’d advise you to return the title search. At any rate, the details you give up here are not enough.
To get a really good title for a story, you need details. Otherwise you have a superficial title that you can write on any history of this kind. So far, you don’t even have enough idea to say what it’s gonna be about.
You currently have a very superficial starting scenario: daughter of Sirius, somehow cursed and part of the golden trio. There are thousands of stories. Well, that’s cursed is new, yet the question is how you want to build up the story so that it’s your fanfiction at the end and not another daughter of Sirius, who in the end serves as a cover for a freaked Harry Potter novel.
So consider what adventures they are experiencing from the golden trio. Think about how she changes it. And above all, consider what she can bring in as her own adventure so that your story becomes a fanfiction and not the Harry Potter novel from another perspective. Work out what the curse is. At some point, you also have ideas for a good title, which then also shows that your story is not just another rumor daughter.
I also see your question of side rollers very critical. That shows me you didn’t understand how a novel works.
Your readers need to remember all the characters first. That is, every other figure is one that can be forgotten. With a few figures, you have more time for this automatically and they tend to happen more often. So the readers keep them in their head better.
So you should think about what functions my side figures have to perform. In your case, you need teachers, fellow students, friends, enemies, family. You have to occupy these roles. Since you’re in Harry’s time, a lot of people are known. You probably won’t need any more teachers. Family is the area where you most need new characters. But here again: family is a broad field. Does she have a little or a big one? Did she have siblings? Aunts? Uncle? Cousins? Grandparents? A stepfather?
If you want to plan your story, do it. Personally, I’m a big fan of it. But no one can take this from you.
Thanks and the side rollers are also very important as I don’t have so many and they make the novel more varied. You really got me on and I’m looking forward to any tip I can warn
So what I’m saying is, you say you have too little side roles. However, secondary rollers do not have the purpose of simply existing.
You have to name what kind of side roles you’re missing. If you don’t say I need another pupil who’s involved in teaching, making it more lively, you don’t need to invent a pupil.
You don’t have to have planned any side role before writing. Sometimes you get noticed only during the writing, I need someone else. Then you find someone. When reworking, you can check, I’ll leave it like this: Do I change a character something to make two people one? Do I throw a person out again because she’s unnecessary? I mention a person earlier because it appears very suddenly due to late inventing.
Of course, the secondary roles are important to make your story more lively. A story in a school where only your main character and a friend appear is unrealistic.
Nevertheless, you have to consider what kind of side characters you need. And especially in a fan fiction, you have to consider which side rollers I use by well-known figures and which by my own.
Personally, I’d rather rely on acquaintances. That’s what makes me a fanfiction. That I can take the written work and intertwine my ideas. It just helps enormously if I don’t reinvent Harry’s vintage, but I’m using well-known students and teachers. Of course, one has the difficulty, in the end it is not only necessary to use the name of the figure, but to reflect its character.
Only if you really have a role that you can’t occupy by an already existing one, it’s time to invent your own figure. Then, however, the question is how the secondary roller is to be designed. But the author himself has to consider this, because only he knows which figures contribute to his history and which are perhaps even obstructible.
