Tire rotation direction?
Hi everyone.
So…after four workshops couldn't help me, I'm just writing here. A few weeks ago, I ordered four complete wheels for my Golf Mk8 GTI Clubsport from felgenshop.de.
I mounted it at home.
The right side is very loud when driving. It's important to note: all four have "Outside" written on them. That's correct.
But the profile direction of the right ones points "down," while the left ones point "up." See photos.
Then I went to three more garages and asked what could be done. Unfortunately, no one could do anything, and they said that the shop had given us the wrong tires, meaning that the right-hand tires were actually meant to fit the left side.
I contacted the company and sent photos…they said that we didn't need two new tires, but that we should have them remounted at a specialist workshop.
How exactly should I reassemble it? No workshop has been able to find a solution yet…
All four tires say Outside, but there is no indication of the direction of rotation, direction, or arrow.
The question now is, is this all correct? Should they be like this? Is it correct that the profiles point "up" on the left side and "down" on the right? When driving, you can actually tell that something is wrong on the right side…or am I mistaken?
The brand of the tires is: SUNNY NW211 WINTERMAX
Dimensions: 235/35R19 91V
Thank you in advance and hopefully someone has an idea and can enlighten me😅
It's actually quite simple. All of them must be facing outward. Unless you have tires that don't have a directional tread pattern. And the treads must be facing forward, in the direction of travel. The tire in the picture above is the wrong way round. At least, from my perspective.
Tires with a marked outer surface have no direction of rotation.
And I stay away from no-name tires
…what does it say on the other sidewall of the tire? "Inside"? I'd actually go with the direction of rotation, which in my opinion is correct to the left…there's no arrow in the photos. What I can't really imagine is that there are "left" and "right" tires…I've never experienced that in almost 40 years of driving, but that would have to be the case if "outside" is supposed to point to the outside of the vehicle.
Sorry, that happens with cheap tires. The tread pattern is directional. It shouldn't even say "outside" on the tire.
Stay away from cheap tires
They don't have a specific direction, just an outside. That's fine. Outside has to go outwards. Done.
By the way, they are the worst Chinese firecrackers.
And moving the rims around doesn't help, sounds like incorrect assembly to me too and a tire guy who has learned how to do that has no idea, I don't really think.
