Make ink from roses?
I want to make my own ink from some roses from the garden, and I wanted to use isopropanol alcohol.
I first cleaned the roses and laid them out to dry. Afterwards, I planned to crush them with a mortar and pestle and place them in isopropanol. In theory, the petals would release their color pigments into the alcohol.
Is this possible or should I use another method?
I'm happy for any help! 🙂
I take no alcohol but water, salt and vinegar and make the whole warm (not boil)ca. Leave two hours later.
Pour through a filter and make scent oil durable with a few drops.
Nice pink color, tried it with different plants.
With blue hibiscus you can make a great purple 😊
I found the recipe here:

Probably the “rose pigments” are broken with time.
But you can try vodka carefully. As the leaves put in.
Then you don’t have any unnecessary AUs for the IPA.
Your method of making ink from roses sounds interesting and could work. isopropanol alcohol can extract the color pigments from the rose petals.
Alternatively, you can also try to cook and filter the petals in hot water to extract the pigments. Both methods should provide you with dye that you can experiment with. Good luck!
