Thinkpad T450 keyboard?
I had a broken keyboard where the lighting worked before. I got a new one and that didn't work. I plugged the old one back in and it didn't work then either.
Then I got a new one and now it doesn't work again.
The same is true for the Trackpoint

yeah then it's not on the keyboard. Either have a broken port or a driver problem. where the lighting with the shortcuts on the keyboard should always go.
I've already tried the driver, but I'm afraid I haven't been successful.
then the port of the keyboard is defective. you can try to clean it with a toothbrush and pure alcohol (isopropanol). you go to the pharmacy. Very often works miracles. I've had a lot of laptops, where dust and dirt eventually caused contact problems.
