Now I'm wondering whether the 3-month ban still applies, or whether I could theoretically start again in 2 weeks.

I’ve actually passed the theory test for the first time with zero errors. What helped me was the weekend and the days before the exam to make as many exam simulations in the app as possible (best error-free) 🙂
