Not quite. Suppose you always have standard cells and standard conditions, you can tap a voltage of about 1.1 V from the zinc and copper galvanic element. If you now replace zinc by lead, it is only approx. 0.5 V. This is because the standard potential of lead is significantly higher than that of zinc.

Oxidation and reduction still proceed analogously. So copper is reduced and lead or Zinc oxidized.

What is oxidized and reduced can be read from the voltage series.

Practically, this may still work a bit different, but for theory it is enough.
