Does the airport test personal scanners for radiation?
I'm currently discussing whether eating uranium would allow it to pass through airport security unnoticed, or whether it would be detected by the security scanners. We're mainly disagreeing on how exactly these scanners work and what they respond to. What's your opinion? Can anyone help me?
No, the scanner wouldn’t start because first, the scanner can’t detect radioactive radiation and even if it could, it wouldn’t react. Uranium emits alpha radiation whose range is very short and would also be absorbed by the stomach wall, so that no radiation would come to the outside.
You’d be very fast.
