Hello, we recently got a router from Telekom that now has a fiber optic connection. We're currently using a FritzBox router and its mesh devices. Would the new Telekom router be compatible with the FritzBox mesh system? Does anyone have experience with this? Currently, Telekom's website states that the Smart 4 Plus doesn't connect to mesh devices from other providers due to inconsistent mesh standards.

Hello, is it very risky to share your WiFi with your neighbor and give him the WiFi key? What could happen in the worst case scenario? Can you get hacked or something like that?

basically you answered your question yourself.
Mesh does not work across the manufacturer.
It works to connect the devices to each other, but only in the function of a repeater, not as mesh.
You should stay with a manufacturer. The Speed Home WLAN is the right choice for the Speedport Smart 4 Plus.

Why the question? Deutsche Telekom provides a large and broad indication that AVM (or other manufacturers) is the standard and therefore the speed port cannot be used.
The new router connects with the FritzRepeaters, but the Benefits of the MESH function does not exist.
