Hello, I recently moved and got a router (Speedport Smart 4). The technician came today and configured and activated everything on the modem. I have a 300 fiber optic line. Will it still work with the "old modem," i.e., Fiber Optic Modem 1, or do I absolutely need Fiber Optic Modem 2?

If the technician has set up everything and light arrives at the modem, you should be able to start. You should have got an activation link. If something doesn’t work, you’ll like to come over Contact form to me.
Observe! Do not confuse the Speedport Smart 4 with the Smart 4 Plus. ; Because only the plus has an integrated modem. The other needs an external one.

If the technician has set up the modem, it will probably work and the router will have to reconfigure that he speaks the external modem and not his internal
