Read the actual mileage of the Mazda RX-8?
Hello friends,
I'm in the process of buying a car and found a really good deal on a Mazda RX-8. I'm so in love with the car that I immediately scheduled an appointment to view it, etc. Now I've read the description more closely; the car (192 hp), originally built in April 2004, apparently has exactly 100,000 km on it.
Now I'm thinking, that can't be true for this price (it's an export vehicle). I could examine and verify the car's remaining features with the help of someone else. I was even allowed an extensive test drive.
Now, I don't trust the 100,000km figure at all. I was looking for a way to verify the actual mileage.
Can anyone help me? Is there a way to check the actual mileage on this model? And if so, how?
Thanks for your answers.
The running performance is already realistic, but I would take a lot of distance from your expectations at your point. With good care, the engines should hold 200k. Well then – do you know how well he was cared for? So it would be very naive to get out of the best. Only right if the RX is offered as an export vehicle. The mods don’t make it any better, on the contrary. The car is safe (always). Five mills I wouldn’t pay for it in my life. Either buy scrap for correspondingly small money and organize a rebuild or buy a good one. Letzere have their price, but usually cost you less than such “good” deals like your find.
Sounds reasonable and you’re right. Thank you.
Hello
look at the service documents, but they are falsifiable then you call at workshops if they would “know” the car and continue to do service. Because of “legal” problems (data protection), workshops are not allowed to say whether the car was maintained/repaired there or nothing concrete about the condition but many workshops make for new customers a “purchasing advice”/recommendation on the phone where you can explain between then lines that there is a maintenance store in the car and only the necessary one was made or the owner was penile at that time and the best wanted/paid.
RX workshops are not all Mazda partners and not all Mazda workshops want to “work” or do more than basic work.
For import cars from the USA, Carfax sees whether the car is a “citron” (Lemon Law), “clipped” (total damage) and the Km stands vote. In the United States, each service must be entered in a database of the EPO, unfortunately Carfax costs for non-owners fees of the vehicle owners or the Lienholder receives the Carfax “Free”
Thank you for this detailed tip!

At Denso control units you can read the operating hours. 1000 hours in “Standverkehr” can yield 10000km, 1000 on the BAB 120000km.
However, it is possible to display the average speed in the on-board computer or in the Navi, as average consumption has been shown since the last 9999km or battery change and thus comes to a more accurate estimate.
The Wankel motor is better off than piston motors in terms of wear and tear, at least as long as you do not drive up the engine cold, this is superlight and super fast in the case of Wankel motors. But an RX8 is nothing for short distances below 2-3 km, then the “suffing problem” easily evolves
The Renesis engine types with the side inlet are ripened but not as operationally reliable and feasible due to exhaust gas conformity as the predecessor types in RX7. The function of the 13B engine is also based on more modern oil types which often tend to form oil coal and do not contain ZZP (zinc phosphate). The oil question is also very sensitive to the “oil exchange interval” at the 13B MSP. But there is no reason to change from Mazda Dexelia to other oils except availability and oil prices.

Thank you for the detailed and informative answer! In the end, despite my admiration for the car, I chose a Benzer C 180 compressor from 2002. In this case, I’ll be the safer option. However, I am confident that in the future I will get a Mazda RX – 8 as second car.
Since the vehicle is already 16 years old, I would also have considerable doubts about this mileage. Even a pensioner will have trouble driving so little in 16 years – but this is not the typical pensioner vehicle. You have several options:
My mother is almost 70 years old and drives by car approx. 2500km a year. So I’m sure. Just an RX8 is more like a summer to cruise or something. Could have been taken as a second car.
All right. But all respect! With such a hell sleigh! The girl of today…
The vehicle is also tuned, has a spoiler, scissors and body kit.
I must say I really doubt it, but hope so much that this car is an exception to typical export deals.
I’ll add: The price of the dealer is 5k
If it is so modified I would take a distance from it, otherwise you can get problems if what is broken e.g.
I would rather look for a clean to slightly modified
What is this about the problems? Insurance?
Because things can be broken, can be badly done or can negatively affect other things
I don’t know. but you can read a lot about the driver’s seat, interior fitting, buttons, door openers inside etc. does it fit the power? how do the pedals look?
The checkbook says a lot. Throughout Mazda?
I get the crisis here with so much ignorance of the answerers. The Mazda has a Wankel motor, please inform you about it! 100,000km is already the upper bar.

Have me a little busy with them, but keep reading various test reports in forums where the engine has kept up to 200tkm with good care
You don’t know how the previous owner was dealing with it. These cars are just something for screwdrivers.
I can even understand that.
“Love makes blind” hope so much that the car has at least 2 years to live
