This is what the Federal Foreign Office says:

Turkey is a Contracting Party to the European Convention on the Control of Passenger Transport between the member states of the Council of Europe of 13.12.1957.

Entry may also take place with passport, provisional passport, identity card or passport if the document has expired for a maximum of one year, but not with an expired provisional identity card. https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/ReiseAndSafety/tuerkeisicherheit/201962

Well, that’s all right.

In principle, the identity card is also sufficient for Turkey, and the identity card may have expired up to one year, but the problem should be that the Entry stamps in your passport. (When entering the ID card you get it on a separate sheet.)

I don’t know what problems there may be when leaving.
