Tampons?

I have another question…is it true that it's harmful to use tampons when you're not on your period? Especially if you're worried about accidentally putting them in during a workout. And can they slip out during a workout? I do gymnastics, so that's why I'm wondering.

Hello

Yes, it’s harmful to use them if you don’t have your period. The tampon then sucks too much vaginal fluid on which is actually intended for moistening.

When this is sucked in, your mucous membrane dries out and that brings the flora (the immune system of your vagina) together. An irritated and dry vagina increases the risk of infections, inflammations, parasites and fungi. Moreover, removing the tampon can become painful. It is therefore not advisable to use them outside the control bleeding.

If you are afraid to get them during the training then use either binding/slip inserts or learn to use a menstruation cup because you can also insert and wear them without a period.

I hope I could help you 🙃

Good luck 🍀

Yeah, that’s it. Tampons dry out the vagina, so the flora of the vaginal mucosa gets out of balance and becomes more susceptible to fungi and inflammation. And it’s just painful. You don’t get your period in a tummy way during training. If you suspect that she could come, use a small slip insert.

And no, a tampon doesn’t slip out if you put it right. :

Well, it dries and irritates the skin, so it can hurt and you become more sensitive to infections.
